Changing Batteries in Wireless Sensors & RemotesUpdated 8 months ago
This article serves as a convenient list of all AutoSlide wireless accessories (including both sensors and remotes), their battery types, and how to change them.
Accessory Type | Qty | Battery Type | Battery Change Process |
Wireless IR Sensor | 1x | 9V Lithium Battery | Power off sensor at side switch. Pull off black translucent cover, and tilt sensor eye forward to release battery. Slide out battery and unplug from cable. Plug replacement battery into cable, slide into IR sensor, and reorient the sensor eye. Put cover back on IR sensor. Power the IR sensor back on and immediately move out of the way of the sensor. The IR sensor will then recalibrate to the closest object in front of it (or 4'-5' max). |
Wireless Microwave Sensor | 1x | 9V Lithium Battery | Remove cover of sensor and flip internal power switch to power sensor off. Unplug old battery from cable, and slide out old battery. Slide in new battery and plug in cable. Power sensor back on and put cover back on sensor. |
Wireless Handwave Sensor | 2x | CR2032 | The backplate of the handwave sensor must be slid down (or, if stuck to the wall, the handwave sensor itself can be slid up). Pry out old batteries, and put in new batteries. Then realign backplate with handwave, and slide back in place. |
Touch Button | 2x | CR2032 | Use included star screwdriver to remove screw at bottom of touch button, and pry off backplate. Slide out old batteries, and slide in new batteries. Put backplate back into touch button, and put back in the star screw to secure in place. |
RFID Tag (K9 or iOpen) | 1x | CR2032 | See video instructions here |
Push Button | 2x | CR2032 | See video instructions here |
Security Keypad | 2x | CR2032 | See video instructions here |
4-Button Remote Control FOB | 1x | Alkaline 27A 12V Battery | Use a small screwdriver to remove the three screws on the back of the AutoSlide key FOB remote. This should allow you to take off the back plate, allowing you to take out the board inside. From here, pry out the old battery, inset the new battery, and reassemble. |
