AutoSwing Unresponsive When Powered OnUpdated 20 hours ago
This article applies to the following behavior:
- The system, when powered on from a partially open position, acts as if powering on but does not move the door. The system mode lights may come on (usually flashing blue), and the system may emit an audio message, but the door stays still.
- The system, when powered on from a partially open position, closes the door fully but stays unresponsive. The system mode lights typically flash blue until the system is powered off.
This behavior may indicate either a communication issue between the motor and controller, or an internal motor gearing issue.
To troubleshoot this,
1. Power off the AutoSwing system. Unplug the motor cable from the controller. This is the cable plugged into the bottom left port on the controller, circled in red below.
2. Inspect the motor cable and motor cable's plug for any damaged connections, including at the wires and pin sockets. Also inspect the motor port on the controller for any damaged or bent pins.
3. Plug the motor cable back into the motor port. Turn off all DIP switches with the exception of DIP switch #1 (if DIP switch #1 is on, leave this on; if off, leave this off).
4. Move the door to a halfway open position and power back on.
If the issue persists, the cause may be damage to the internal gearing of the AutoSwing motor. This can sometimes be caused by forced manual usage of the door over time. To see if this is the case, gently rest your hand on the motor's gearbox while the system is powered on but unresponsive. If the gearing is slipping internally, a vibration or humming can often be felt inside the gearbox. If this is the case, contact Autoslide support immediately for assistance and leave the system powered off.
