In order to automatically lock the door closed, a third party lock must be integrated with the system. Options include:<ul><li style="font-size: 16px;">Electric strikes (hardwired integration)</li><li style="font-size: 16px;">Maglocks (hardwired integration)</li><li style="font-size: 16px;">Yale smart locks (wireless integration)</li><li style="font-size: 16px;">August smart locks (wireless integration)</li></ul>When installing an AutoSwing onto any door requiring security, or onto an exterior door in an environment with a potentially high pressure differential, the use of one of these options as both a lock and a latch is highly recommended. This article will focus in particular on electric strikes and maglocks.Both types of hardwired lock connect to the AutoSwing at Port 2 as described in the below sections. Before proceeding, make sure you have the AutoSwing Lock Cable to plug into Port 2. To test this, retract the latch by turning the handle, then activate the door. As soon as it starts to open, pull on the strike arm. If it released, the door latch likely has too much pressure on the strike arm when closed. Adjust the strike slightly outward to relieve latch pressure.If it doesn&apos;t release in the above test, use a voltmeter to check for a 24VDC pulse at the strike terminals during activation. No pulse suggests a wiring issue - test for a pulse directly out of the yellow and green wires of the AutoSwing&apos;s lock harness. If a pulse is present, the problem is likely with the strike itself - contact the strike manufacturer for support.<h2 id="common-maglock-issues">Common Maglock Issues</h2>If the maglock is weakly locking or not locking when closed, this could be due to a spacing issue or wiring issue. Ensure the maglock&apos;s accompanying metal plate is completely parallel to the maglock surface when the door is closed, and that there is no space between the maglock surface and metal plate.If the above spacing issues do not apply, use a voltmeter to check for a constant 24VDC at the maglock terminals while the door is closed and the AutoSwing is in&#xA0;Red Mode. No voltage suggests a wiring issue - test for voltage directly out of the yellow and green wires of the AutoSwing&apos;s lock harness. If voltage is present, the problem is likely with the maglock itself - contact the maglock manufacturer for support.
