Door Doesn't Move During Programming, Lights SettleUpdated 11 days ago

If the door can close but fails to move when programming, and instead settles back into the mode it was in before programming, it indicates that either:

  • There is an obstruction with the door. Power the system off, leaving the door in its current position. Slowly open the door a few inches and close the door fully. If the AutoSlide is mounted at the top of the door, pull and push the door open and closed from the top of the door (not the handle). If the AutoSlide is at the bottom, pull and push the door open/closed from the bottom of the door (not the handle). Repeat this a few times. Feel for any sort of resistance or obstruction in the door track or at the top of the door. This can include debris in the door track, a nail or screw sticking up from the door track, or debris in the rollers of the door. You may also want to apply a silicone or aluminium based lubricant (not WD-40) to the door (not the AutoSlide).
  • The motor isn't strong enough to open the door out of the seal. This is commonly caused by seals that are too tight, or old motors worn from age and use. Power the system off and manually slowly open the door. Is the weatherseal extremely tight? Turn on DIP switch #2 for Slam Shut in the system, or increase the Opening Force in the AutoSlide app if connected. Apply a silicone or aluminium based lubricant (not WD-40) to the door track (not the AutoSlide). Power the system back on and try again. If this doesn't help, a motor upgrade may be needed.
  • The motor may be internally damaged, and can only rotate in one direction. Power the system off, reverse DIP switch #1, slightly open the door 6" to 12", and power the system back on. If the door immediately opens, then this is not the cause (in which case, power off the system and reverse back DIP switch #1). Otherwise, if the door doesn't move, a replacement motor may be needed.

If none of the above apply, please contact AutoSlide for advanced support.
