Tag Triggering Too Far or Not Far EnoughUpdated a year ago
If the tag is activating the tag sensor at too close or too far of a range, the tag distance must be adjusted.
First, determine if the tag is Version 1 (pre-Nov 2021) or Version 2. This can be determined by observing the tag sensor. When no tags are within range and the tag sensor is idle,
- If there's a solid blue light on the tag sensor, the tag set is Version 1
- If there's no light at all on the tag sensor (despite the system being powered on), the tag set is Version 2
If the tag is Version 2:
- Take the tag to the physical distance you want it to activate at.
- Ensure any other tags are out of range.
- Press and hold the tag button until the tag light comes on solid blue. Release the tag button.
- The tag should flash once, then set itself to the distance it's held at from the tag sensor box.
If the tag is Version 1:
- Press and hold down the button on the tag.
- After approximately 10 seconds, it should begin to flash in sequence (one flash, two flashes, three flashes, one flash, etc.)
- Release the tag button after one flash for 3', two flashes for 6', or three flashes for 10'.
If the tag is still showing intermittent or inaccurate range issues,
- Try setting the range again; it can take multiple times for the range to calibrate correctly.
- All tag sets come with at least two tags; try using the second tag. If the second tag has the same issue, the issue may be with the tag sensor box.
- Try moving the tag sensor box's position. Concrete or walls with a high amount of metal or wiring behind the tag sensor box can inhibit detection.
- Change the battery on the tag.
