Troubleshooting “Local Connection Error” on AndroidUpdated a year ago

Problem:

Autoslide dashboard “spinning” and then reporting “Local Connection Error”

If an Android phone experiences an inability to control their already enrolled AutoSlide system using the AutoSlide app, it is likely caused by a Bluetooth issue with the Android phone. Before proceeding, it is recommended to:

  1. Update the Android OS on your phone
  2. Update the AutoSlide app through the Google Play store
  3. Ensure Bluetooth is turned enabled via the phone's Quick Settings or navigating to Settings / Connections / Bluetooth
  4. Update the firmware on your AutoSlide system if system is already paired (see instructions here)

Solution:

Assuming Bluetooth is confirmed to be on, attempt the following:

  1. Force stop the app (via Settings / Apps / AutoSlide) and turn Bluetooth off (via Quick Settings or Settings / Connections / Bluetooth).
  2. Re-open the app.
  3. Tap on OK in the "Bluetooth is disabled!" dialog to enable Bluetooth for the app. Tap on ALLOW in the "An app is asking to turn on Bluetooth" dialog to turn Bluetooth back on.
  4. Open the AutoSlide dashboard in the app and try activating the system again.

If the app is still unable to connect to the system, power cycle the Android phone and try again via the app's dashboard.

If the app is still not working, uninstall the app completely, power cycle the phone, and re-install the app. Log into the account and try again. If this doesn’t work, contact AutoSlide for advanced support.
